Tips from Top Litter
Scoop Daily for a Fresh Home
Regular scooping helps maintain a clean litter box and minimizes odors. Scoop out waste daily to keep your cat’s litter box fresh and inviting.
Choose the Right Location
Place the litter box in a quiet, low-traffic area where your cat can have some privacy. Avoid placing it near their food and water bowls to encourage good hygiene.
Use the Right Amount of Litter
Fill the litter box with 2-3 inches of Top Litter. This depth allows for effective clumping and odor control while providing a comfortable surface for your cat to dig and cover their waste.
Transition Gradually to New Litter
When switching to Top Litter, mix it with your current litter gradually. Increase the amount of Top Litter over a week or two to help your cat adjust to the new texture and scent.
Clean the Litter Box Weekly
Even with daily scooping, it’s essential to clean the litter box thoroughly at least once a week. Empty the old litter, wash the box with mild soap and water, and refill with fresh Top Litter.
Use Multiple Litter Boxes
If you have multiple cats, provide one litter box per cat plus an extra one. This ensures that all your cats have access to a clean box and can help reduce territorial issues and accidents.
